Jay Spain was born and raised in New York City. He studied Wing Chun from Grand Master Sifu Chun Kwok Chow, founder of Integrative Wing Chun, and Sifu Julio Ferrer. Sifu Jay has had the opportunity to travel to China. He met and train with a number of Wing Chun students and Masters, including his Sigung, Ng Wah Sum. In 1995 Sifu Jay Spain was certified to spread and teach Wing Chun. As a young man Jay was drawn to all forms of martial arts. Sifu Jay continues to train in other martial arts like Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. Jay also holds rank of Contra-Mestre, in Capoeira under Grand Master Marcos Barrao.
